Conscious Intimacy:
Where the Shadow Speaks | India

Chapter Note:
In April 2026, four SR Methodology trained, sexual-trauma informed psychotherapists and fifteen participants from various backgrounds gathered in Goa for a three-day immersive retreat exploring shadow work, erotic intelligence, attachment, intimacy, nervous-system regulation, expressive arts therapies, and embodied relational healing.
A 3-Day Immersive trauma healing Retreat in Goa, india

Held by four SR Methodology trained mental health practitioners, this therapy retreat brought together adults from across India and internationally for psychologically rigorous, trauma-informed depth work rooted in somatics, creative process, relational truth, and ethical facilitation.

This was a trauma-informed retreat that was focused on exploring shadow work, attachment, desire, nervous-system regulation, and embodied intimacy through expressive arts therapies, somatics, and relational process.
This was not a performance-based wellness experience, nor a spectacle-driven intimacy space. It was a carefully held therapeutic container for people seeking to understand the deeper patterns beneath attraction, inhibition, shame, longing, grief, and relational repetition.
Over three days, our deep participants engaged in:
- expressive arts therapies
- shadow-work processes
- somatic and elemental practices
- attachment and intimacy explorations
- nervous-system regulation work
- group process and integration support
- embodied boundary and self-trust practices
The retreat welcomed singles, couples, all gender identities, and diverse relationship structures within a consent-based and professionally facilitated environment. No nudity or partner-based sexual exercises were part of the retreat process. The container was intentionally designed to be psychologically clean, confidential, and ethically grounded.

Participants received:
- daily integration support
- trauma-informed facilitation
- expressive arts therapy tools
- somatic integration practices
- post-retreat support structures
- community-based reflection spaces
- curated integration materials and takeaways
Throughout the retreat, participants explored the lived realities of shadow work:
- how the body stores unfinished emotional experiences
- how shame and desire coexist
- how attachment patterns shape intimacy
- how survival responses influence attraction, withdrawal, pursuit, control, and emotional inhibition
- how grief, fantasy, longing, and fear live in the nervous system
This gathering emerged from a shared desire to create spaces in India that are psychologically rigorous, somatically intelligent, spiritually grounded, and ethically held.
